I have been thinking about second chances. It is amazing how God extends second chances to us even when we don’t deserve it. I came to the conclusion that we are actually all people of the second chance. The simple truth is that we all need a second chance. It was Warren Buffet who said, “Every Saint has a past and every sinner has a future.” As I look through the Bible, I see examples of how God loves to give people a ‘way back.’ There are stories of lost sheep found, valuable coins recovered, even rebellious sons given “welcome home” parties. If this is who God is, and what he does, why then am I so stingy with second chances for others?
