1927
Werner Uhlman pioneered what was then known as Full Gospel Tabernacle in Newberg, Oregon.
1932
The church was completed at 2nd and Howard St., where the church was located until 1971. Approximately 35 people attended.
1940
Otis Triplett and family came to pastor. Growth was instant, as several other families moved into the area at the same time. It was under Rev. Triplett’s ministry that the church was brought into the Assemblies of God.
1944
A two-story structure was added under Pastor Alfred Morrison.
1945
Pastor Morrison leaves for the mission field; Harry Wakefield becomes pastor and builds a parsonage next door. The church was officially incorporated at this time.
1951
Elmer Kirschman becomes pastor, and adds a fellowship hall to the building.
1969
In the late sixties, Dowain Perish pastored until 1969; Curtis Myers came to Newberg First Assembly of God at this time and led the church to purchase seven acres outside the city limits for a new facility.
1971
Construction of the facility was completed in November 1971 during Pastor Myers’ ministry. At the beginning, attendance was approximately 40; by the time of the new facility’s dedication, the congregation had grown to 110.
1972
Associate Pastor Rev. Gordon Myers, brother of Curtis Myers, became senior pastor. Curtis Myers went on to the mission field. Gordon Myers started a pre-school and Christian school. The name was changed to Christian Life Center and Christian Life School.
1983
Rev. Phillip and Melanie Rose became pastors. Pastor Rose undertook a large addition to the building.
1984
The school closes in 1984; the building program is completed in 1985. The Roses were the longest-term pastors; they were here for 20 years.
2004
Dave and Tami Benson were elected as lead pastors in January 2004.
2007
The name officially changes to Family Life Church.
